Remote Alerting of Doctors in the Piemonte Hospital Network
Since 1997 REGOLA has been working with the Committee for the Treatment of Cranial Traumas as the technical contact for PATATRAC, a secondary prevention project to reduce the "avoidable" mortality and morbidity resulting from cranial traumas. Over time, PATATRAC has evolved into the TEMPORE project (Remote Alerting of Doctors in the Piemonte Hospital Network), embracing new trauma areas such as burns, strokes and maxillo-facials; the broadening of the areas it covers has been accompanied by new, more complex operational models.
TEMPOREŽ is now a sophisticated, interoperational system between hospital structures able to grant medical teleconsulting and aiming to reduce the number of unnecessary patients' transports.REGOLA has designed and produced a wide range of tools for interchange and remote consulting based on its own applications for acquiring diagnostic images and documents. TEMPOREŽ allows data to be acquired directly from a very wide range of medical devices (such as DICOM machines), to be stored and collected in classifiable groups, to be viewed and edited and to be forwarded to the relevant structures and receive an opinion in reply.
The operational flow described - deceptively simple and direct - has required an optimal adaptation of infrastructures and adjustment of software procedures to the existing working standards in hospital structures. REGOLA has followed the entire project, proving itself to be an irreplaceable partner in the context of the move towards telemedicine systems.
